**Profile Translation**

Houshou Hanon

Hanon is junior high school student in the same class as Lucia. In some ways, she can seem very wise and mature for someone her age, and she certainly considers herself to be quite adult-like and worldly, especially regarding her romantic pursuits. But most of the time, however, Hanon is happy to be a fun-loving, girly person. Hanon lived in an apartment by herself at the beginning of the manga, but she later moves into Pearl Waters to share a home with Lucia.

Hanon is actually a mermaid, or more specifically, the Princess of the South Atlantic Ocean. Hanon was raised as a princess within her own kingdom. When Gakuto and the Dark Lovers attacked her kingdom, Hanon managed to flee, and escaped to dry land. There she found Lucia, whom she instantly recognized as a mermaid.

But Hanon is more than just a mermaid princess. Using her Aquamarine Pearl, Hanon can transform into Aquamarine** Pearl Voice, and use the power of her singing voice as an offensive attack against the evil creatures of the sea.

AGE NOTES: Hanon is thirteen years old at the start of the manga.

Hanon's Powers

transformation
Hanon does not use a special phrase or incantation to transform into Aquamarine Pearl Voice; she just does.

"Pretty Sugar Pitch!"
Her main offensive attack as Aquamarine Pearl Voice, first used in chapter 02.

Magical Items

Aquamarine Pearl
The Aquamarine Pearl is the source of Hanon's power; she needs it to transform into Aquamarine Pearl Voice.

seashell locket
Like the other mermaids, Hanon keeps her pearl in a seashell locket that she wears around her neck. Her locket is light blue in color.

microphone
When she transforms into Aquamarine Pearl Voice, Hanon uses her microphone to project her singing voice.

Ariake-no-tsuki Orgel
This music box, a "treasure passed down by the Aquamarine Mermaids," allows Hanon to determine the whereabouts of any Aquamarine Mermaid in the world. Hanon uses the orgel to find the location of Meru's mother. It is Meru's mother who originally held the orgel in safekeeping, but she gave it to Meru in order to pass it on to Hanon. (Note: "Ariake-no-tsuki" refers to the moon that you can still see in an otherwise brightening sky, right before the sun rises.)

key rod
In chapter 20, Hanon recieves the magical Key Rod from Hippo. Ignoring the rod's magical powers, Hanon uses it like a baseball bat to break down a door within Gakuto's castle.

** In chapter 03 of the manga, Hanon introduces herself in her idol form, for the first time, as "Blue Pearl Voice." However, since Noel, another mermaid in a different shade of blue, comes along later, Hanon's idol title is changed to "Aquamarine Pearl Voice." Hanon's pearl, however, is always the Aquamarine Pearl, right from the start.
