  Visions of Goddess v1.0

For this layout, I experimented with making a completely liquid table that would expand and contract to fit any resolution. Of course, I didn't realize that making a table expand to fill a 1600x1200 screen would make it look like crap. But I was still proud of this layout, because it was the first time I was able to code a valid layout in XHTML 1.0 that still had table cells that used stationary background images. Like the very top cell of the table; no matter how wide the table expanded, the header graphic would remain fixed on the left side of the screen, and the lined background would keep repeating forever, to fill up the rest of the top of the screen.

Coding-wise, this layout was a mess. The current version is much better. I also, unfortunately, pretty much copied this layout exactly, bad coding and all, for the first version of Portrait of a Demon King, because I was lazy. I only changed the header graphic and CSS color schemes.

But still, it's not all that bad for a layout that I threw together in less than an hour, because I was in such a hurry to get the site online. It's unfortunate that this layout stayed up for over a year, though: from January 2005 through April 2006.
