I hated this layout.

It was just too big. The frames version was too big for a user to view with a normal 800x600 resolution, which meant that any visitors using an 800x600 resolution had to press F11 to view the full layout. Well, in the end, it wasn't so bad, since there was also a plainer, no-frames version available.

Anyway, this layout used a really cool drawing of Seiya by Katsumi Tamegai, a character designer for the Sailor Moon anime. This layout was the first time that I ever really used CSS to experiment with some cool effects. When your cursor hovered over the link colors, they turned the same color of blue as the background, making them "invisible" except for the dark blue drop-shadow still outlining them underneath.

The splash page used a coloring book pic of Fighter, colored in by me, using good old Paint. For anybody who remembers the original version of Kinmoku Koibito, you'll remember that the first layout used coloring book images of the Starlights in a similar fashion. This is the same Fighter used on one of the original pages, although I had to re-color parts of her fuku to use on this splash page. I like the idea of using an image from the old layout as a splash image for the new layout; it added a sense of transition, of continuity.

Anyway, I hated this layout so much that I wouldn't let myself rest until I could create a layout for Kinmoku Koibito that I really, really could be happy with. Finally I did, and I still think that it's one of the prettiest layout I've ever designed. I'm rather proud of the current layout for Kinmoku Koibito, so I don't think that it will ever change. ^__^
