Other Stuff: The Artbook

Kotetsu no Daibouken Perfect Collection |
The KSS Kotetsu artbook is a treasure trove of goodies for even a casual fan. Included in the book are many gorgeous, glossy, full-color pages of artwork by MEE, a few pieces even comissioned especially for this book. For scans from the interior of the artbook, please visit the Image Gallery.
Unfortunately, since this book also includes material from the original hentai manga, and from the extremely hentai spinoff PC game, there are sexually explicit (and very, very nasty) images included in some short sections of the book. For this reason, you shouldn't be able to purchase a copy of the book unless you are 18 or older.
The book is divided into several sections, including:
Voice: Several pages of special photographs and portraits of the voice cast from the anime, as well as short interviews with each cast member. There are some very pretty, and very interesting, photographic portraits of each cast member comissioned just for this book. If you're a fan of Yuko Miyamura, Kikuko Inoue, Masami Kikuchi, Mako Hyoudou, or Kae Araki, you might want to check out a copy of this book.
Picture: A section devoted to full-page watercolor and CGI artwork by MEE, as well as official artwork from the anime, CD-drama, and PC game.
Story: A play-by-play breakdown of the OAV, accompanied by dozens of colorful screenshots. This section also includes, at the end, a similar synopsis of the hentai spinoff PC game, accompanied by EXPLICIT screenshots.
Comics: Full-page, full-color ink and watercolor illustrations by MEE, from the Kotetsu no Daibouken manga, as well as from Moe yo Tetsujin, MEE-kun Shoujotai, and Ki ni Naru Otonarisan.
Interview: Lengthy, in-depth interviews with Yuji Moriyama, MEE, and Yoko Kikuchi. Yoko Kikuchi's interview is accompanied by her original character design drawings. In one interview, titled "MEE vs. Yuji", the two men discuss their different visions for Kotetsu.
Picture Diary: A glimpse of the hectic, zany life of MEE, as written and illustrated by, duh, MEE.
Establishment: Character designs and sketches, and character profiles, from the hentai PC game. Again, this section contains explicit material. Hiko-chan gets two entire pages devoted to him. What's up with that?!
Goods: A complete guide to Kotetsu merchandise, including the anime on VHS and LD, the CD-drama, the PC game, and the manga tankouban. At the time that this book was published, only the first six tankouban of the Kotetsu manga had been released.
Staff & Cast: A thorough listing of each and every soul involved in the production of the anime, CD-drama, and PC game.
The artbook is now out of print and somewhat difficult to find. Check your favorite anime store that also carries artbooks, whether local or online. You can also check out an import book store like Kinokuniya, or shop online at Amazon.co.jp.

Kotetsu no Daibouken CD-Drama |
This is the Kotetsu drama CD. I know nothing about it, except that it was made in 1996, to coincide with the release of the OAV series.

Kotetsu no Daibouken: O-Linn-chan, Furusato e Kaeru |
This is the official Kotetsu tie-in novel written by Moritami Yowo and illustrated by MEE. The novel begins when Linn recieves a letter from her mother inviting her to come home. For scans from the interior of the novel, please visit the Image Gallery.
