  Musical Crowley: The Crowley Fanmix

The following was posted by Meghan in the livejournal Good Omens community, and it archived here with Meghan's permission.

Click the thumbnails of the album covers to view larger images - both of which are illustrated by Meghan's own artwork. And of course, click the name of each song listed below in order to download and save it!

Anyway, here is Meghan's post:

I really do hope you like it. Some of the songs are tongue-in-cheek, as you can tell. But, I present, a Crowley soundtrack! Don't be too harsh, this my first mix. :o And if you're wondering how I chose songs -- I didn't want to put anything too expected on there, like Queen or anything. XD

[I Alone] -- Live

it's easier not to be wise
and measure these things by your brains
i sank into Eden with you
alone in the church by and by

[Wish I May] -- Ani DiFranco

i'm losing my love of adventure
i'm losing all respect
for me and myself tonight
i wonder what happens if I get to
the end of this tunnel
and there isn't a light

[After the Fall] -- October Project

the farther you run
the more you recall
the loss of your innocence
after the fall

[Run] -- Collective Soul

are these times contagious
i've never been this bored before
is this the prize I've waited for
now as the hours passing
there's nothing left here to insure
i long to find a messenger

[Sympathy for the Devil] -- the Rolling Stones

pleased to meet you
hope you guess my name
ah, what's puzzling you
is the nature of my game

[When You're Evil] -- Voltaire

it gets so lonely being evil
what I'd do to see a smile
even for a little while
and no one loves you when you're evil
i'm lying though my teeth!
your tears are all the company I need

  Musical Crowley: More Crowley Songs

You know how sometimes you hear a song that totally reminds you of a character from a book, movie, or TV show? Enigel had a moment like that, and she shared the culprit song over at the livejournal Good Omens community, and then gave me permission to copy her post here:

I was searching for songs with "book" in the lyrics (side result: they're not that many, especially not with the book as central theme) and came across something that grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go, for reasons you will soon see. It was titled "The Houseplant Song".

It doesn't exactly fit Crowley and Aziraphale, yet... in a weird, alternate universe sort of way it does. And it's pretty hilarious to listen to, so with your permission, a small quote to lure you in:

As for me and my neighbour
Well our friendship has become
A meaningful relationship
That's headed straight to heaven

[Read the Rest of the Lyrics]

I hope it amuses you as much as it amused me ;-)

Also, Kit sent me this song via email:

I thought it was hilarious that you had an original Crowley soundtrack, since I've done the exact same thing for Good Omens multiple times. Anyway, you've got a pretty good list of Crowley songs, but you're missing one that I really love. You're more inclined to like it if you're the sort who enjoys CrowleyZira slash, but even if you're not, its a great song for him. Its by Nightwish, and its called "Wish I had an Angel". Here's a lyric sample for ya:

Deep into the dying day,
I took a step outside an innocent heart
Prepare to hate me, fall when I may,
This night will hurt you like never before

Old loves, they die hard
Old lies they die harder

I wish I had an angel
For one moment of love
I wish I had your angel
Your Virgin Mary undone
I'm in love with my lust
Burning angel wings to dust
I wish I had your angel tonight

Just thought I'd pass it along. Cheers.

Fate sent me these song ideas via email:

I was listening to my iPod and found a ton of songs that remind me of Crowley -- mostly A/C stuff, but anyway.

1. "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," Death Cab for Cutie
2. "Brothers on a Hotel Bed," Death Cab for Cutie (the first verse reminds me of Crowley, the second of Aziraphale)
3. "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy," Queen (listen to the last verse and you'll see... and also, how can I not have Queen on the list??)
4. "Demons," Guster
5. "The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most," Dashboard Confessional
6. "Downfall," matchbox twenty
7. "Smile Like You Mean It," The Killers
8. "Something Pretty," Patrick Park (although this one mainly reminds me of Aziraphale)

Joon (yes, the same Joon in this site's fanfic archive) sent me these song ideas via email:

I had a couple of songs you might like that reminded me of Crowley. The links to them are below. Enjoy!

Still Terminally Ambivalent Over You by The Real Tuesday Weld

The World Was a Mess, But His Hair Was Perfect by The Rakes

Finally, Revvy McYellow sent me this song recommendation:

I heard this song a while back, and it's been bugging me because bits of it remind me of the book. The song, which I've attatched, is called "Who Will You Love" by Dead Heart Bloom. I can't find the lyrics anywhere, which is really bugging me, so I typed them up myself. I only hope they're accurate! I suppose it's mostly the first two verses that really make me think of Azira and Crowley, but, hey, I'll spread the word anyway.
