English Manga: Reprint Edition

Until December 2004, new chapters of Banana Fish were being published in Viz's monthly manga magazine, Animerica Extra. After Animerica Extra folded, however, new chapters of Banana Fish only appeared in the graphic novel format listed below. Viz re-issued its original seven volumes of Banana Fish in the smaller reprint edition below, and then continued publishing new Banana Fish chapters in the "reprint" format. Thus, all nineteen Banana Fish volumes are available in the "reprint" format below, even if only the first seven volumes are actually "reprints" of anything! The suggested retail price for each volume of the new manga is $9.95, but you can usually find it being sold cheaper at most discount stores. Information about the English reprints is below.

You can probably order the English manga from any local book or comic book store in your area, if the most recent volumes aren't already sitting on their shelves.

  English Manga: Original Edition

Originally, Viz serialized Banana Fish in their now-defunct Pulp Magazine, and then later collected several chapters into one paperback volume. The original collected volumes sold for $15.95 each in the United States ($24.95 each in Canada). That seems expensive, but it's still pretty easy to find copies of the original English manga being sold at discounted prices, such as in major online book and anime stores.
